DESCRIPTION:Canada Day celebrations in Amherst start with the Canada Day Run with the Amherst Striders\, from the downtown Tim Hortons at 8. The opening ceremony begins at 11:30 in Victoria Square\, with Canada Day cake. There will be vendors and activities in the Square\, and music too with Mark McMillan Trio from noon -2. From 2-4\, it’s the dynamic duo Liz and Ben. The day ends with fireworks from the Robb’s Complex at dusk. Ride your bike to the Canada Day celebrations\, and check it in with a bike valet for a chance to win some swag. The town will also be holding a Best Dressed Contest. Show up in all your Canada Day fear to compete. \n
