DESCRIPTION:The Cumberland County Exhibition is celebrating it’s 100th Anniversary this year. It’s Aug 27-Sept 1 in Oxford.The exhibition continues to be one of the largest cattle shows in the Maritimes\, and a showcase for local 4H clubs. This years entertainment includes hypnotist Jason Cyrus Aug 30 at 8 and Hal Bruce Sept 1 at 7. There will be lots of activities for children\, including a children parade\, the Little Miss EX Contest and a kids corner. Buy your $15 week long exhibition pass in advance and you could win a Galaxy A5 from Eastlink wireless. DESCRIPTION:The Town of Amherst will host an open house at Town Hall at 98 Victoria Street East Thursday afternoon between 4 and 6 to provide information on Phase 1 of the Willow Street infrastructure renewal project. \nThis phase will include the renewal of some of the existing water\, sanitary sewer and storm sewer systems as well as the reconstruction and resurfacing of the road in the project area\, which is Willow Street between Spring and East Pleasant streets. \nTown staff will be on hand to explain the project in more detail to those who drop in to the open house. \n
