March Break at the Joggins Fossil Center

March 14, 2017 @ 10:00 am - March 16, 2017 @ 10:00 am

The Joggins Fossil Centre has the following sessions planned for the upcoming March Break Children’s Day Camps held from Tuesday March 14 to Thursday March 16, from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. These camps are designed for children ages 5-12. The fee is $5.00 per person for each day. Participants are asked to bring their own lunches and snacks each day.

Tuesday March 14

The week starts off with a morning full of games, a guided tour, and activities which provide a great introduction to the Joggins Fossil Centre and its importance.

Susan Beaton introduces participants to the world of visual arts as they spend “March Break at the Beach.” Participants are encouraged to bring their sunglasses.

Wednesday March 15

Writer Sara Jewell leads participants through a writing workshop entitled “Panda Poop and Self Portraits: Making Our Own Stories.”

Mary Williams instructs a beginner rug-hooking workshop. This is a family workshop so kids can bring their parents along to try out this fun and creative art form.

Thursday March 16

Dale Fawthrop, playwright, founder/writer for the Tantramar Radio Theatre will present “Exploring Our Past Through Drama.” Get ready to “ham up history” with this exciting theatre workshop.

The week ends with Mad Science of the Maritimes. Participants will get charged up by learning all about static and current electricity. Participants will create series and parallel circuits and even get to take home a Circuit Maze to dazzle their friends and family.

Pre-registration is required for all workshops. Contact Laurie at 902-251-2727 Ext. 224 or education@jogginsfossilcliffs.net
