The Town of Amherst is now accepting applications for Community Support Grants. Applications can be turned in at Amherst Town Hall during regular business hours or mailed to PO BOX 516, Amherst, NS., B4H 4A1. Applications can be found at https://amherst.ca/submit-a-request-form.html. The deadline to apply is Dec 31.

Springhill/Parrsboro Lions Club Fundraiser
You can support the Springhill and Parrsboro Lions Clubs by participating in their monthly fundraiser. Go to rafflebox.ca/lionsclub. Select Springhill or Parrsboro Lions from the drop down menu. The money they raise goes directly to that group. Covid-19 has changed how Lions Clubs in Nova Scotia raise money. Cheers to the New Year is the first event of our Virtual #seewhyweloveit Run Series in Amherst. It goes from Jan 1st- 31st. The cost is $20 for each participant. The 6th Annual Great Canadian Snowman Challenge is on for the Canadian Cancer Society’s Relay for Life. Build a snowman, or snow sculpture. Send a photo of your creation, with who built it including its name. E-transfer your $10 donation to Daren White and the B.K. The Town of Amherst is looking for candidates for the Athletic Achievers Award. The award is for individuals and teams that have, as amateurs, captured a gold medal at the provincial, Maritime, Atlantic or Eastern Canadian level, won a bronze, silver or gold medal at the national or international level or received special recognition for their achievements from their governing sports body between January and December 2020.
