Amherst Town Council is considering amending the Land-Use Bylaw for cannabis-related uses. The draft amendments would create definitions for cannabis retail, cannabis consumption lounges, and define where federally licensed production facilities may locate. A public hearing on this matter will be held on Monday at 6:30 in Town Hall Council Chambers. Council will hear submissions in support or opposition. The Grinch is Live in Amherst at the Community Credit Union Business Innovation Center, Thursday at 7. Tickets are $8 cash only, children under 3 free, when accompanied by an adult. The Grinch will tell the story of how he stole Christmas, what it’s like in Whoville, and answers questions from the audience. After the performance get an autograph from the Grinch.

The Amherst Community Christmas Dinner is Christmas Day at the Amherst Lions Center, between 2 and 4. There will be two sittings of up to 200 people. The Amherst Ramblers are the host team for the 2019 Fred Page Cup is May 1-5 at the Amherst Stadium. Tournament passes are $69, which include all round robin games, playoffs and the championship game, are available at the Ramblers Office on Industrial Park Drive.
