FREE Hot Breakfast – Small Business Week
The week of Oct 15th is Small Business Week. The Springhill Chamber of Commerce is hosting a FREE Hot Breakfast for Business Leaders, Friday Oct. 19 starting at 9 in Artie’s Attic at Sociables. Guest speakers will include Stephanie Moreau, Tourism Development Officer with the Municipality of Cumberland, and Johnathan McClelland with the Cumberland Business Connector.

The 11th Annual Pumpkins for Poverty is Friday Oct 19 11-1:30 at Victoria Square. Get a free pumpkin, with a donation of food or cash to the food bank. Pumpkins will be available while supplies last.

The Amherst Rotary Club is hosting a Kitchen Party/Ceildh, with the Rollikers, Friday Oct 19 from 6-8:30 at the Amherst Golf Club. Tickets are $20 and available from any Rotarian. Proceeds to Camp Tidnish.

The Anglican Parish of Westmorland will be holding their All You Can Eat Breakfast on Saturday, October 20th from 7-10am at St. Mark's Hall, Mt. Whatley (! km up Route 16 from Aulac). Scrambled eggs, pancakes, ham, sausage, bacon, toast, juice, tea, coffee all for $8 adults, $4 ages 6-12 and under 6 free. The Anglican Church Women will also have a bake table as well as a Flea Market table.

The Girl Guides are hosting a Camp Coffee Morning, Sat Oct 20 from 10-1 at Heartz Hall at Trinity St Stephens. There will coffee, tea and muffins plus vendors and crafters. The cost is $4 per person or $10 for groups of 3 or more. Proceeds to the Guides last area camp, Camp Cumberland.

There’s an Evening of Gospel Music, Sun Oct 21 at 7 at Christ Church Anglican. It will feature the music of Pic “n” Grin and the Carter Girls. Admission is a free will offering. There will be door prizes. All money raised are for the painting of the historic Church of the Good Shepherd in Tidnish.

The Town of Amherst is holding a Cookie Crawl, Friday Dec 14 from 4-8. Buy your ticket in advance and then take it to Amherst Town Hall on Dec 14, and exchange it for an empty cookie tin and a map of participating businesses that will have Christmas cookies to fill your tin.
