Community Gospel Morning
There will be a Community Gospel Morning at the Amherst Wesleyan Church, Wed Oct 3 from 10-noon. This month’s musicans are Ruth Shearer, Rod Oulette, Bruce Gibson, Evange Landry and Linda Filmore. Join the sing-a-long and the snacks. The event is free. For more information call 902-324-2507.

The YMCA of Cumberland’s Strong Kids Ball Hockey Tournament is Thursday Oct 4, 10-3, in the Y parking lot. The cost is $35 per team, with a maximum of 7, minimum of 5 players. Individuals can enter for $7, and will be placed on a team. There are 2 age categories 7-10 and 11-14. Advanced registration is required, at the Y front desk, call 902-667-9112. Proceeds to the Y’s Strong Kids Campaign.

The Cumberland County Seniors Safety Program and Furlong-Jones Funeral Home are holding another Police and Seniors Safety Academy, beginning Wed Oct 10th. It’s a Free 5 week program, that features guest speakers on topics of interest to seniors. Light lunch and refreshments will be provided. Tea For Tots is on today in the cafeteria of the Cumberland Regional Health Care Center. Drop by for breakfast as early as 8 this morning. The Amherst 50+ Club’s Fall Fair is Sat Oct 13 from 8-2 at their hall on Croft Street. There will be crafts, baking, vegetables, and white elephant items. There will also be a full pantry table, a door prize and much more. They will be serving lunch too. Get a turkey burger, pie and tea or coffee for $6.
