“A” Fest is Sept 13-16 in Amherst. There will be entertainment, food and fun for the whole family. Amoung the events is Hodge Podge Night Market, the Ramblers home opener, a fashion show and art gala, a family parade, family fun day and family date night and much more. The Town of Amherst and Dayles Grand Market are hosting a Hodge Podge Night Market, Thursday Sept 13, from 4-9. There will be local food, wine and beer, artisans and more. There will also be music from local musicians, and entertainment by the Halifax Circus acrobats.

The Frank Deshenes Memorial Ride is Sunday Sept 9, from the Canadian Tire Parking lot. The ride will be to 250 kilometers, to represent the 2500 km ride that Frank intended to complete. Kickstands up at 10 sharp. Ride patches will be available on site for $10 each. Proceeds to support Frankie’s Move Over Law.

The United Way of Cumberland County kicks off it’s Annual Fund Raising Campaign with Smile cookies from Tim Hortons next week. Cookies cost $1, with proceeds to the United Way.
