Red Cross Volunteer Recruitment Day

Join the Red Cross for Volunteer Recruitment Day. Tuesday Aug 7 from 9-4 at their office in Suite B at 16 Church Street. Meet the volunteers, and see what the Red Cross does and learn about the ways to become involved. The Red Cross is hoping to increase their teams by 20 new volunteers.

Introduction to Track and Field Meet

The Town of Amherst is offering a free Introduction to Track and Field Meet for children 9 and up, Sat Aug 11 at 10 at Rotary Park. Kids will receive some basic instruction, get to meet an Olympian and be able to compete in various track and field events. Information and registration on the Amherst Recreation facebook page.

The Annual Blessing of the Crops Mass is Sunday, August 12 at 2 at St. Denis Church. There will be a reception at the St Thomas Aquinas Church Hall in Joggins. There will be an evening concert at 6 at St. Denis Church featuring local entertainers.

Tennis

Tennis Nova Scotia is presenting a youth Rogers Rookie Tour, Monday Aug 13 from 11-1 at Lions Park Tennis Court. Players must be able to sustain a basic rally. Registration fee is $5 and tennis rackets will be provided.  In the evening Tennis NS will be leading high energy games for adults from 6-8. Stuff a Car
