Shelter Yard Sale/Open House

The L.A. Animal Shelter on the Smith Rd, will be holding their Yard Sale and Open House, Sat Jul 7. The yard sale is from 9-1, the open house from 11-2 and a BBQ sponsored by the Community Credit Union from 11-1.

Joggins Fossil Center 10th Anniversary

The Joggins Fossil Center will be celebrating it’s 10 Anniversary  Saturday July 7. The events begins with a blessing of the cliffs by Mi’kmaq elders at 9. From 10-4 there will be a local vendors marketplace, fossils displays, tours, information tables, children’s activities and a BBQ by the 1442 River Hebert District School Army cadets. There will be an Indoor Yard Sale and Pulled Pork Take-out, Say Jul 7 from 10:30-2 at the Highland A.M.E Church. Pulled Pork on a Kaiser bun, with potato salad for $10. Proceeds will assist with church expenses.

90th Annual Strawberry Festival in Wallace

The 90th Annual Strawberry Festival in Wallace is this Saturday. It’s on from 3-6 at the Wallace Community Hall. There will be homemade baked beans and a variety of salads and strawberry shortcake. The cost is $12 for adults, $6 for children 13 and under and free for preschoolers. Take-outs will be available. Proceeds to St Matthew’s Presbyterian Church.

Showcase Summer Theatre Programs

Showcase Productions Society will be offering Summer Theatre Programs for students in Amherst and Area at Christ Church Parish Hall. Camp 1 is Jul 16-27 and is for ages 7-9. 4th Annual BHP Challenge

The 4th Annual BHP Challenge is Sat Jul 21 at Sackville’s Beach Hill Park. The main race is a little over 4km, with more than a dozen obstacles. The Mini-Challenge for kids 5-11 is back again too. Race sign-in is at 8:30, but pre-registration and payment is required by July 19. Official Opening of Rufus’ Art Lodge

The Sunset Adult Residential Centre is planning an Official Opening of Rufus’ Art Lodge and permanent exhibit Wed July 11th, starting at 3. There will be a ribbon cutting, tours, toast and reception with refreshments. The event will run until 7.
