The Amherst Curling Club will be hosting this season’s Provincial Championships and we need a few Coordinators for the event from February 15th to 19th, 2018. The coordinator for each activity is not expected to perform all the functions themselves, but work with a team of other volunteers. The 2017 Staff Holiday Bazaar is Friday morning from 8-12:30 in the Cumberland Regional Health Care Center cafeteria. There will lots of homemade goodies, crafts, jewelry and more.

Sackville’s Tree Lighting is Fri Dec 8 from 5:30-7 at Bill Johnstone Park. You can visit with Santa when he arrives at 6 to light the tree. There will be holiday music and hot chocolate.

They are holding a Tupperware Bingo Event, Friday night starting at 6:30 at St. Marks Hall 59 Mount Whatley Loop Road. There will be free bingo games, demos, a door prize and more and Tupperama tickets are 10 for $10.

The 2017 World Junior A Challenge exhibition game between Canada West and Russia is Fri Dec 8 at 7:30 at the Amherst Stadium. Tickets are available at The Amherst Stadium, Amherst Town Hall, Maltby Sports and Bliss Café at Dayles Grand Market, and at ticketpro.ca

The Amherst Ramblers Fan Appreciation Night is this Saturday at 7 at the Amherst Stadium. The first 700 fans will receive a free gift at the door, discount coupons from local merchants and a ticket for many door prizes. You could win a tv, a recliner rocker, a tablet and more. There will be a  Garage/Yard Sale Saturday  from 9-noon at 13 Matthew’s Terrace(the old hospital site)  All proceeds go to the Society of St. Vincent de Paul. This Society serves those in need in Amherst and some surrounding area.

There will be a Christmas Market Saturday from 9-1 at Pugwash High School. There will be crafts, the Communities in Bloom Tree Fest, the Make It Snappy ginger contest, Kids Gingerbread Man cookie decorating and more. Jingles the Elf will be there too. Admission is a donation to the Food bank.
