The Springhill-Oxford Area Chapter of the Kidney Foundation of Canada is presenting it’s 1st Annual Variety Show, Thursday night from 7-9 at St. Andrews Wesley United Church in Springhill. The event will feature local talent, including Leah Killen, Evange Landry, Marg and Andrew Lloyd, Jerry Metz, Jim Scopie, Ruth Shearer, Jim Scopie, Charlie James, Castlereagh and the Smith Sisters. There will also be a gift basket raffle. Admission is by donation at the door.

The United Way of Cumberland County is presenting Festival of Trees, November 17 and 18 at the Amherst Center. It’s a celebration of the Christmas tree. The highlight will be auction of decorated Christmas trees. Santa will arrive early for Breakfast With Santa and stick around for pictures too. The United Way of Cumberland County Festival of Trees Business Luncheon, is Friday Nov 17 from noon-1:30, at the Community Credit Union Innovation Center. Meet the member agencies and learn more about how donations to the United Way impact our community. The Cumberland County Museum and Archives are sponsoring a Four Fathers Dinner, Friday Nov 17 from 6-9 at the Amherst Curling Club. It will be a roast beef dinner, with all the trimmings and cheesecake for dessert. Happy hour is from 5-6, with a silent auction. Tickets are $25, at the museum, Breakfast at Brittanys and Teasers.
