There’s a Benefit for Peter Melanson, who is recovering from a stroke, Sat Nov 4 from 9-1 at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 14 in River Hebert. There will be a silent auction, and you could also win a $50 gas card and 10 pounds of lobster. Admission is a donation at the door, and you will have a chance to win a 43” smart tv.

CARMA, Amherst and Area, is holding a pancake Breakfast, Saturday from 8-1 at the Amherst Masonic Hall. The cost is $6 for adults and $4 for children 12 and under. Funds raised support a Trap-Neuter-Release program and helps provides rescue, care and food for abandoned and stray cats.

The Amherst Police Department is proud to be hosting a “cram a cruiser” event in Amherst. Their crime prevention cruiser will be parked at various locations throughout the town and you can “cram” the cruiser with non-perishable food items and coats. The food items will be donated to the local food bank. They are also looking for gently used coats and/or winter wear that can be donated as well in support of the Coats for Cumberland campaign. Krispy Kreme is having another Doughnut Fundraiser for the Children’s Wish Foundation. Order by November 10 at childrenswish.ca/krispykreme. Donuts are $15 per dozen and they will arrive fresh at the office of McIssac Darragh on November 16 between 7:30 and 9:30. The goal is raise $10,000 across Nova Scotia, with One Wish in One Day.
