The Cumberland Joint Services Management Authority will be holding a Household Hazardous Waste event and Community Shred-it event, Saturday Oct 28 from 9-12 at the Amherst Fire Hall. Maggie’s Place will be holding a Free Halloween Party, Saturday from 10-noon at West Highlands Elementary School. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

The Fenwick Church United Church is having a New and Used Sale at the Church Sat Oct 28 from 10-1. They will have crafts, preserves, homemade chocolates, Christmas items and more.

An International Food Festival will be held Sat Oct 28 from 11-1 at the Amherst First Baptist Church. You are invited to sample delicacies from around the world and take home your favorite dishes. Proceeds are for church operations.

The Haunted House at 1026 Valley Road Springhill will be open for a haunting good time  Sat Oct 28. It will be open for young children from noon-4 and 7-10 for a good scare. Haunted House prices are $2 for the afternoon and $5 for the evening. Archway Insurance will hosting a BBQ for the fundraiser. All proceeds are for new equipment for the Springhill Jr/Sr High School track teams.

The 2017 Amherst Zombie Walk For Cancer is Oct 28 from noon-2. This year’s route will be the South Albion Street area. The cost is $10 per person or $20 for families. All proceeds to the Canadian Cancer Society’s Relay For Life. Check the Zombie Walk 2017 For Cancer facebook page.
