Lifestyle Makeover Challenge is a free course to help you build confidence and play a more active role in reducing the impact of arthritis on your life. It will be at the Maritime Conference Center in Sackville, Wednesday Oct 25 from 10-noon. Learn, from health professionals, how to live better, manage pain and fatigue, eat healthfully, understand medications, and enjoy physical activity with arthritis. Wednesday through Sunday, Oct. 25-29 join the Amherst Center for Haunted Scarefest, with a tribute to Esther Cox. Wed. and Thursday, 4 – 9, Friday, 10-2 and 4-9 and Saturday and Sunday 10-1 and 3-6. (10 a.m. shows for 12 and under) Admission is $5 for teens and adults and $3 for those 12 and under. You get 1 dollar off your admission with a donation to the food bank, and your admission allows you to go through twice.

The United Way of Cumberland County is presenting Festival of Trees, November 17 and 18 at the Amherst Center. It’s a celebration of the Christmas tree. There’s Spooky Science at the Springhill Library, Thursday Oct 26 from 3-4. It’s for ages P-6.
