MADD Candlelight Vigil

MADD Cumberland/Tantramar Chapter will be remembering loved ones killed and those injured in impaired driving crashes, at a Candlelight Vigil, Friday Oct 6 at 1 at the Revival Center on Robert Angus Drive. A reception will follow. If you would like to submit a photo  of your loved one to be included in the vigil, email it to Maddcumberland@gmail.com by Tuesday.

The Annual Fall Festival of Colors

The Annual Fall Festival of Colors is Thanksgiving Weekend, Saturday and Sunday at Ski Wentworth. Ride the chairlift for a beautiful view of Wentworth Valley. Hike back down the mountain. Chair runs 10-4. Other activities include a jumpy castle, petting zoo, Haystack Playground, pony rides, BBQ & more!

Annual Holistic Health and Wellness Show

Wentworth 2nd Annual Holistic Health and Wellness Show is Saturday October 7 10-4 at the Wentworth Learning Centre Hwy #4. Rocktoberfest

The Amherst Fire Department presents Rocktoberfest, Saturday at 7 at the Amherst Fire Hall. There will be two bands, The Divorcees for the county fans and Old School for the rock and roll fans. Trider Beer will be available. Tickets are $20 and will be available Sept 5 at A&W in Amherst. Rocktoberfest is sponsored by Archway Insurance.

CANU GED Study Program

Cumberland Adult Network for Upgrading, CANU, offers a free GED study program. If you need to upgrade your reading, writing, social studies, science or math skills, you will get instruction and support. The GED is free to write. Sackville Curling Club registration

The Sackville Curling Club will be holding registration nights Tuesday Oct 10 and Thursday Oct 19 from 6:30-8:30 at the club on Landsdowne Street. Coats For Cumberland

Coats for Cumberland is back. You can drop off gently used winter outerwear at Sobeys, the Amherst Stadium and NSCC in Amherst. At the Coop in Parrsboro, Oxford Town Hall and NSCC in Springhill. The Amherst Store will be at the Amherst Centre Mall November 17th,  the Parrsboro Store will be at St.George's Anglican Church November 10th and the Springhill Store will be at the NSCC Springhill Site November 23rd. There will also be stores in Pugwash, Wentworth and Oxford.

Seniors Safety Academy

Furlong Jones Funeral Services will be hosting the 6 week information sessions Wednesdays beginning October 11.  Among the topics to be covered, are winter driving tips, medication safety tips, computer and internet safety, self-defense, YMCA programs for seniors and protecting your funeral plans. Town of Sackville Tourism and Business Development Strategy meeting

The Town of Sackville is holding community meetings to create a Tourism and Business Development strategy for 2017 – 2019. The final session is Wednesday, October 11 from 7 pm – 9 pm in Council Chambers in Town Hall (local businesses are especially encouraged to attend this session and/or the one on October 5).
