A Night of Comedy – Mike MacDonald
The Amherst Fire Department is hosting A Night of Comedy Sat Sept 30 at 7 with headliner Mike MacDonald and hosted by Marc Sauve. Tickets for this event are only $10. Funds will go to the Amherst Fiirefighters Association Building fund, for projects that include a kitchen reno.

With Glowing Hearts, a new musical, about the struggle between Joseph Howe and Charles Tupper over Confederation, runs Saturday at 7 and Sunday at 1 at the Oxford Capitol Theatre. Set in the Oxford Temperance Hall, the actors include, Dale Fawthrop, Pat Melanson, Lawry MacLeod, Tracy Black, Donna Jean Perrin and Doug White. Coats for Cumberland is back. You can drop off gently used winter outerwear at Sobeys, the Amherst Stadium and NSCC in Amherst. At the Coop in Parrsboro, Oxford Town Hall and NSCC in Springhill. The Amherst Store will be at the Amherst Centre Mall November 17th, the Parrsboro Store will be at St.George's Anglican Church November 10th and the Springhill Store will be at the NSCC Springhill Site November 23rd. There will also be stores in Pugwash, Wentworth and Oxford.
