Youth Drop-in at the Cumberland YMCA Youth Center is back. Every Thursday grades 4-6 can drop in between 5:30-6:45, grades 7-10 between 7 and 8:15.

Because of the overwhelming response to the, Anne of Springhill, Dinner Theatre at the Maritime Music Fest, it’s coming back for three more performances. The show tells the story of a group of wacky Anne Murray fans who get together to stage a tribute to their hometown hero. There is a Musical Evening in support of Autumn House, Friday Sept 29 at 7 at the First Baptist Church. The Rollikers, Silver Rose and the Baptist Choir will be performing. Admission is a good will offering. There will also be a harvest sale of baked goods and preserves.

The Amherst Masons are serving breakfast this Saturday, from 7:30-10:30 at their hall on Lawrence Street. Eggs, sausage or bacon and hash browns will be on their menu for $6 for adults and $4 for children. Take-outs are also available.

CARMA Amherst and Area Fall Fair is going on Saturday from 8-2 at the Amherst Lions Den. Tables will include crafts, books, preserves, Christmas, fall, Halloween, pet gifts, jewelry, baked goods and yard sale items. There will also be a BBQ. If you bring a food donation for the rescue cats, you could win the Special Draw.

The Holy Family Parish Fall Fair and Market is Saturday Sept 30 from 9-1 at the Parish Hall. Among the events is an indoor yard sale. You can rent a table for $15. Call 902-667-2523. The Oxford Hunting and Fishing Expo is Saturday from 9-5 and Sunday from 9-2 at the Oxford Lions Recreation Center. Check out hunting and fishing gear and atv’s. There will also be a BBQ. Admission is $5, those 12 and under free. For more information call Matt Wood at 902-397-2341.

The Amherst Chapter of the Kidney Foundation is holding their 4th Kidney Walk, Saturday Sept 30 at Dickey Park. Registration is at 1. The walk starts at 2.
