Youth Drop-in at the Cumberland YMCA Youth Center is back. Every Thursday grades 4-6 can drop in between 5:30-6:45, grades 7-10 between 7 and 8:15.

CarFit is coming to Amherst Friday Sept 22. The program helps seniors adjust the comfort and safety of their vehicles. It’s being offered by the Nova Scotia Health Authority. The Highland African Methodist Episcopal Church is having a Praise and Worship Service Fundraiser, Saturday. The day starts with a new to you sale from 11-4. There will be a BBQ featuring Woody’s ribs and burgers as well as hot dogs and sides. There will be Praise and worship services Saturday at 6, and Sunday at 11 and 3, with special guest speakers and lots of live gospel music.

The Mount A Mounties take on St Mary’s Huskies at this year’s Homecoming football game this Saturday at 2. Tickets are $12 for adults, $5 for students and free for 12 and under. Mount A students get in free with student id. Tickets are also available in advance for the Tweedie Tailgate with special guests: 1997 AUS champion football team. There’s a Fund Raiser for Joan Mullin Saturday Sept 23 from 2-midnight at the Knights of Columbus Hall on Robie Street. There will be a BBQ, live music, DJ Steve Butler, a silent auction, and a 50/50. Admission is a donation at the door. Proceeds will help support Joan with her breast cancer treatment expenses.
