Labor Day Weekend at the Age of Sail Museum

September 2, 2017 - September 3, 2017

The Annual Labor Day Weekend Events are back at the Age of Sail Museum in Port Greville. Saturday enjoy the music of Hooligans Ruff free at the museum. From 4:30-6, there's a Roast Beef Supper at the FPW Fire Hall. The cost is $12. Sunday the Open Air Ecumenical Church Service at Collins Field starts at 9:30, with pancake breakfast following that for $5. Sunday there is also an Antique Engine Show at the museum, with free admission.

Town of Sackville Community Corn Boil

The Town of Sackville is hosting it’s Annual Community Corn Boil during the outdoor Farmers Market in the Bill Johnstone Memorial Park Sat Sept 2 from 11:30-1:30. The event is to welcome Mount Allison students to town.

Fundraising Breakfast for Camp Tidnish

The Warehouse Warriors will be holding a Fundraising Breakfast Sunday from 10-1 at the Old Warehouse Café. Scrambled eggs, bacon, and hash browns are on the menu for $5. Proceeds support Camp Tidnish.

Hot Roast Beef Supper

St. Thomas Aquinas Parish will be holding their annual Hot Roast Beef Supper on Sunday, Sept 3 from 4-6.  Take outs available.  Cost is Adults-$15.00 and children 12 and under $7.00.  Raffle tickets and 50/50 tickets will also be sold.

Kraft-Heinz Project Play – Lions Park

Amherst Lions Park has been nominated in the Kraft-Heinz Project Play. Monday Sept 4,the final 4, will be announced on TSN. If Lions Park is a finalist it will receive $20,000. If it is the Grand Prize winner the facility would receive $250,000. Fri Sept 9 and Saturday Sept 10 are voting days. More details at kraftheinzprojectplay.com

Labor Day in the Park

You are invited to Labor Day in the Park, Monday Sept 4 from noon to 4 at Dickey Park. There will face painting, washer toss and a charity BBQ, and your kids can play in the splash part and on the playground equipment. There will also be music from Kent Beattie, Hannah Melanson, Travis Hatcher and Alicia Clark and Janice Thompson.

There will be a Cancer Benefit Supper for David Brown, Sat Sept 9 from 4-6 at the Truemanville Fire Hall. The cost is $10 for adults and $5 for children. Money raised will help the family with travel expenses.

River Hebert Army Cadets – registration

If you are between the ages of 12-18 and like a sense of adventure, then join the 1442 River Hebert Army Cadets. They meet every Wednesday night from 6:30 - 8:30, with registration is Wednesday September 13. Bring your parent/guardian to fill out registration forms. Cost is FREE and the opportunities are endless.
