Three Charitable Organizations in Amherst are offering up an alternative way to celebrate Halloween this year that will still allow the little ones to trick or treat. The YMCA of Cumberland, The Four Fathers Library and Maggies Place are teaming up to offer a 'Trail of Treats'. The All Saints Sunday School is holding Trunk or Treat Halloween night from 5-7, in the Anne Murray Center parking lot. They will be handing out treats for children 12 and under. Community members, businesses, organizations, and anyone who would like to join them are welcome to participate. If you would like to donate, they will accept packaged treats and items as donations but no homemade treats please. You can drop them off on Oct. 31st starting at 4:30.

The Revival Center Kids/Youth are again selling 3lb pails of peanut free cookie dough for $12. An easy way to do some quick Christmas baking. Delivery will be by month end. They have chocolate chip, oatmeal raisin, ginger, double chocolate, rainbow chip and shortbread. Email transfers are available. Proceeds to support a family at Autumn House. Call 902-667-6902.

The Bordertown Jam will be moving to the Artisan Center at the Amherst Center Wednesday Nov 4. The new start time will be 6:30. The restaurant will be open. Admission will still be $5 and there will be a 50/50 draw and door prizes. Social distancing rules will be in place, so a mask will be necessary, unless you are seated.

Amherst Lions Thursday Night Bingo is back, Nov. 5. They are under new rules and guidelines.  Masks are required and they have new seating capacity. Doors will open at 4:30.
