There’s an Evening of Song with Jocelyn Joyce, Sunday, Aug 20 at 7 at the Anglican Church of the Good Shepherd in Tidnish Crossroads. She’ll be singing her favorite  old country songs. Admission is a free will offering, with proceeds for the upkeep of the church

VON Cumberland is holding 4th Annual Kickin Asphalt Run on Saturday starting at 8:30 from the corner of Havelock and Victoria. Registration at VON Office 43 Prince Arthur St and the Running Room. The Town of Amherst Blueberry Harvest Festival is Thursday thru Sunday. Thursday, A&W will be celebrating Burgers to Beat MS, to help Canadians living with multiple sclerosis. This year will donate $2 from each Teen Burger sold to the Multiple Sclerosis Society of Canada. You can also participate by rounding up your bill at the register, buy a cutout or other in store activities.

Weston Bakeries is holding a BBQ, Thursday from 11-1, at their location in the Amherst Industrial Park. It’s a fundraising event for the Cumberland Health Authority’s Youth Fund, helping support children with mental health issues.

The Summer Reading Club Wrap Up Party is Thursday Aug 24 from 11-12 at the Springhill Library. Celebrate the end of the Summer Reading Club by travelling back to 1867.
