The Linden Community Hall is hosting a Country Supper, Sat Aug 12 from 3:30-6. The cost is $10 for ages 11 and up, $5 for ages 5-10, pre-schoolers eat free. Take outs will be available. Call 902-661-4340 for more information.

The Blessing of the Crops Mass is Sunday Aug 13 at 2 at St. Denis Church. It will be followed by a reception at St Thomas Aquinas Church Hall in Joggins. There is a concert at 6 in St Denis Church, with the Terrio Sisters and Friends. The Amos Seaman School Museum, St Denis Church and King Seaman Church are open 10-6 daily until Sept 1. The Amherst Lions are nominating Lions Park in the Kraft Heinz Project Play competition. From all the nominations received, a final 4 will be selected. Then there is a 24 hour voting process, on Sept 9. The winner gets $250,000 to upgrade their facility. Nominations end at midnight this Friday. Several nominations for Lions Park have already been received. Check them out on the Kraft Heinz website kraftheinzprojectplay.com. You can include your nomination there too. Every nomination helps.

The Pugwash Fire Department’s Mackerel Fishing Tournament is Sat and Sun Aug 19 and 20. There are cash prizes for the 4th biggest fish, including $500 for first place. There will also be prize draws following the final weigh ins Saturday and Sunday in Eaton park. And a BBQ Sat from 2-4.Register at the fire station between 6:30 and noon both days.
