3rd Annual Beech Hill Park Challenge
The 3rd Annual Beech Hill Park Challenge is Sat July 29 from 8:30 - noon in Sackville. Get ready to run, climb, and dodge and be prepared to get dirty. The cost to enter the main race is $25, $10 for students. There is a mini race for children of the main race, $5 for other children. Register and make your payment before July 26 at Sackville Town Hall, or go to Sackville.com

On Saturday, the Amherst Lions in cooperation with the Town of Amherst will officially open their community park and celebrate the ongoing development, with music, activities, food and an opportunity to learn and play tennis with representatives from Tennis Nova Scotia. Tennis play starts Saturday morning at 10:30. The community celebration and music will be ongoing from 12:30-3pm and the official park dedication is at 1:00pm. There’s a Country Supper at the Malagash Community Hall, Sat July 29 from 4-6. They will have casseroles, pie, and homemade rolls, bread and biscuits. The cost is $12 for adults, under 12, $6 and preschoolers eat free. Proceeds to the Salt Mine Museum.

Sappyfest
Sappyfest the small independent arts and music festival is Friday thru Sunday in Sackville. There will be music on the mainstage on Main Street, at the Vogue Cinema and at Ducky’s. There will be lots of vendors at Sappyfest 12 on Bridge Street. The SappyFest Zine & Craft Fair is Saturday, from 12:00-4:00PM at The Royal Canadian Legion. $15 registration fee for tables. The 37th Annual Tidnish Festival and Co-ed Softball Tournament, is Aug 5 and 6 at the Rodney Estabrooks Memorial Sports Field in Tidnish rain or shine. The 5th Annual Minudie Music Fest is Sat Aug 5 from noon til midnight at 5553 Barronsfield Road. A great day of music from local area performers including C4, Chelsea Atkinson, Jerry Metz and Plan B.
