The Springhill Miners Museum is hold a Canada 150 Event Sat July 8 from 11-6. There will be a bouncy castle obstacle course and a 20 foot bungie jump. There will be a BBQ, face painting. A number of vendors from the farmers market will be there. Among the musical performers will be Chelsea Atkinson and Salima MacDonald. The Springhill Miners Museum is at 145 Black River Road.

The Parrsboro Legion is offering a different way to spend this Saturday Night, with Rum Runners Speakeasy Night from 7 til late. It’s an evening of intrigue, music, dancing and historical adventure. There will be live music from Rob “The Untouchable” Bentley. The cost is $12. Get on your 1920’s style and join your friends at the Parrsboro Legion.

Minudie Day is Sunday July 9 starting at noon at the Amos Seaman School Museum and St. Denis Church. There will be a bouncy castle, a fish pond and face painting for the kids. There’s a BBQ, strawberry shortcake, and local entertainment including performances by Plan B. The Air Force Association is holding a Crib Tournament, Sunday July 9 at the Air Force Club on Havelock Street. Play begins at 1, and you must have a partner. For more information, call 902-667-9262.

There’s An Evening of Music, Sunday July 9 at 7 at the West Amherst Point Baptist Church. This week featuring The Fellas. The music starts at 7, with a light lunch afterward including strawberry shortcake. Admission is a free will offering.
