On Friday July 7, the Joggins Fossil Institute celebrates the 9th anniversary of the opening of the Joggins Fossil Centre and the inscription of the Joggins Fossil Cliffs as a UNSECO World Heritage Site. The Springhill Miners Museum is hold a Canada 150 Event Sat July 8 from 11-6. There will be a bouncy castle obstacle course and a 20 foot bungie jump. There will be a BBQ, face painting. A number of vendors from the farmers market will be there. Among the musical performers will be Chelsea Atkinson and Salima MacDonald. The Springhill Miners Museum is at 145 Black River Road.

The Parrsboro Legion is offering a different way to spend this Saturday Night, with Rum Runners Speakeasy Night from 7 til late. It’s an evening of intrigue, music, dancing and historical adventure. Minudie Day is Sunday July 9 starting at noon at the Amos Seaman School Museum and St. Denis Church. There will be a bouncy castle, a fish pond and face painting for the kids.
