Parrsboro International Plein Air Festival

June 16, 2017 - June 18, 2017

Friday through Sunday, June 16, 17 & 18, thirty-seven top plein air artists are coming to Parrsboro from Maine, Ontario, Quebec, the Atlantic Provinces, New Jersey, Ohio and Massachusetts, for the Parrsboro International Plein Air Festival. Plein air - painting in the open air - is the hottest art movement in North America. AGM Empowering Behind Borders

Nature Conservancy – Tree Planting

June 17, 2017

The Nature Conservancy of Canada will plant 2500  trees on Saturday, June 17 as part of a forest restoration and wildlife habitat enhancement project.  NCC staff and volunteers, along with Canadian Forest International, will be planting native tree species near the New Brunswick-Nova Scotia border, in an old agricultural field that was donated to the land trust. 17th annual John Michels Sr. Ladder Sit

The Amherst Fire Department and the Amherst Fire Fighters Association are hosting the 17th annual John Michels Sr. Ladder Sit at the Walmart parking lot. Starting at noon Thursday til 2 Saturday, fire fighter Dwight Wheaton will spend 50 hours, in the bucket, doing his part, along with his fellow fire fighters in helping to raise funds for Muscular Dystrophy and other community projects supported by the Amherst Fire Fighters Association.
