This Cumberland County Bike Week. It’s designed to get all ages active and to celebrate safe cycling. Saturday, Trail Flow Portable park will be at the E.B. Chandler Field from 10-noon. The Portable Park includes fun features that simulate elements found on real mountain bike trails and is designed for riders of all skill levels. And it’s free. Why not ride your bike to work.

Cumberland County Hospice Palliative Care Society’s Walk for Hospice & Barbecue Fundraiser is Saturday June 10. It starts at 10 at the Hospice office at the Amherst Center and ends at the Future Hospice site in West Amherst. There will be a BBQ on site after the walk. For more information, call 902-669-0261. The Town of Sackville is teaming up with McIsaac Darragh Chartered Professional Accountant’s Louse MacKinnon, Mount Allison University’s Geography and Environment Department, and the Centre for Local Prosperity, to present an afternoon session on Small Town Economic Development, increasing self-sufficiency, and harnessing the potential of a semi-rural community such as Sackville. The event is Sunday, June 11 at 2 pm at the Vogue Cinema, there is no admission charge and everyone is invited to attend.
