There will be a Coffee House Sunday June 4 starting at 7 at the Salvation Army in Springhill. The evening will feature the music of Marg and Andrew Lloy. There will be a light lunch afterwards. Admission is by donation.

Wednesday, night at 6, Cumberland the SMILE & SHINE Program will be holding their Annual General Meeting to report on their 2016-2017 year. They will report on the successes and challenges of programs and services along with our annual financial statements. The Cumberland Adult Network for Upgrading, CANU has a free GED Study Program, every Tuesday and Thursday from 9-11. The GED is free to write, you write one subject at a time, and to prepare you get instruction and support. It’s LEGO at the Springhill Library, Thur June 8 from 3-5. Children grades P-6 can use their imagination to create LEGO masterpieces. Those under 9 must be accompanied by an adult. The Fundy 55+ Games are Wednesday and Thursday, June 21-22, in Springhill. They are open to all Fundy Region residents, ages 55 and older (Cumberland County, Colchester County & East Hants County). The Springhill BMX Park is open but under development. The beginner track and mountain bike track can be used now. Future development plans include two speed tracks and a larger BMX track. There are also plans to establish a BMX Club. The Grand opening of the Springhill BMX Park is Friday from 4-6.The Trail Flow Porta park will be there from 6-8. There will be music and a free BBQ.

This Cumberland County Bike Week. It’s designed to get all ages active and to celebrate safe cycling. Friday at 6:30 join the Bicycle Specialist for a group ride. Saturday, Trail Flow Portable park will be at the E.B. Chandler Field from 10-noon. The Portable Park includes fun features that simulate elements found on real mountain bike trails and is designed for riders of all skill levels. And it’s free. Why not ride your bike to work.
