The Anglican Parish of Westmorland will be holding their ALL YOU CAN EAT BREAKFAST on Sat, Apr 22nd from 7-10 at St. Mark's Hall, Mt. The Town of Amherst, Cumberland Central Landfill, Miller Waste and The Great Nova Scotia Pick-Me-Up are teaming up to clean up our community Saturday, Earth Day, from 9-1. Bags will be available for pick up at Amherst Stadium. Miller Waste will collect the waste at the Amherst Stadium. There will also be a Battery drop- off box on site. VON Cumberland’s Bowling Fundraiser is Sat Apr 22 at the King Pin. You can bowl as a couple or a team. The cost is $12 per person for 3 strings. The 35th Annual Highland Fling is Sat May 13 from 10-2 at the Amherst Curling Club. One of the special events in support of the Fling is Amherst Canadian Tire Fling Day this Saturday. They will have a hot dog BBQ, and you can spin the wheel for a chance to win.

The Springhill Community Gardens Open House is Sat Apr 22 from 10-2. Reserve your free garden plot. There will be a bird feeder workshop, face painting, chilli and more.

The Joggins Fossil Institute is pleased to invite you to the opening reception of the exhibition Laurell Hamilton: Explorations in Acrylic on Sat Apr 22 at 2 at the Joggins Fossil Centre. Laurell is a resident of Lower Cove, and her exhibit is on til May 22.  The reception is part of the opening day activities at the Joggins Fossil Centre which opens on Apr 22 – Earth Day – at 10 for the 2017 season.
