Springhill Communities in Bloom’s Third Annual Springhill Turkey Trot is on....Virtually! It’s a 5K, that you can run where you want and when you want as long as it's completed before Saturday October 10th . They want to keep the spirit of the race alive, encourage people to stay active and most of all stay positive during these challenging times. The Climate Change Video Challenge is on. EOS Eco-Energy wants you to create a short video, exploring climate change impacts, or how you are adapting to the changes. The Sackville Curling Club is getting ready for the season. There is a registration night, Thursday Oct 15 from 6:30-8, at the club on Lansdowne Street. They have leagues for all ages and skill levels. If you are new to curling, the cost for the first year is only $150, and they have free clinics and coaching to get you in the game. The Fibre Arts Festival is holding an evening of fibre arts suppliers, Friday Oct 16 from 4-9 at the Amherst Center. See sewing machines, looms, kits, fabrics, needles, dyes and inks, patterns, books and more. There will be refreshments and live music. Admission is $5.

The Adventure Therapy Project will be leading a guided hike to three local waterfalls on Saturday Oct 17. Meet at 1 at Wentworth Provincial Park. You will drive to two falls all within 3km's of the park .The hikes will be a combined 5km on ATV Trails and would be rated as moderate in terms of difficulty. The Amherst Christmas Parade will be different this year. It will be a drive-by in the Amherst Industrial Park. Tantramar Crescent will be closed to traffic at 3 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 28, in order to line up the floats. When it opens to viewers at 5 p.m., it will become a one-way street, with vehicles entering from Tupper Boulevard and exiting onto Industrial Park Drive. The parade will end at 9.
