The Amherst Masons are serving breakfast Sat Mar 25 from 7:30-10:30 at their temple on Lawrence Street. They will have bacon, sausages, eggs, hashbrowns and more. The cost is $6 for adults and $4 for children.

The Pipers Guild presents Celtica, a night of music celebrating all things celtic, Sat Mar 25 at 7 at the Capitol Theatre in Oxford. It will feature the talents of Pat Melanson, Alex Buchanan, Pat DeMoliter, Melissa Strachan, Merrie Howe and Ian Pulfrey. Tickets are $15 advance, by calling Eleanor at 902-447-3040. Tickets will be $20 at the door.

Maggie's Place will be hosting two free Income Tax Preparation Clinics. Tuesday March 28th, with appointments available from 9:30 am to 3:30 pm. And Monday, April 10th, with appointments available from 11:30 am to 3:30 pm. Childcare Available. The Community Volunteer Income Tax Program is to assist eligible individuals (modest income and a simple tax situation), who are not able to prepare their income tax benefit returns by themselves. First Baptist Youth Group (Amherst, NS) Spring Auction and Taste Tester on Wednesday, March 29 at 7:00 pm. Tickets are $10.00 and can be picked up from the Church Office or by phoning 902 667 2001.

The Cumberland Y is holding a Spin-a-thon, Wed Mar 29 from 6-9. Sign up as a team of 3 or individually. Pledge sheets and registration forms are available at the Y front desk. There will be prizes for participants and a 50/50 draws. You don’t have to be a Y member to participate. Deadline to enter is Mar 24. All proceeds to the Strong Kids Campaign.

There’s another Young At Heart Games Night, every Wednesday at 7 til the end of May at the Dufferin Den in Sackville. If you are 50+ it’s a night of cards and board games. Admission is by donation, with proceeds for building maintenance.
