Spin-a-Thon
The Cumberland Y is holding a Spin-a-thon, Wed Mar 29 from 6-9. Sign up as a team of 3 or individually. Pledge sheets and registration forms are available at the Y front desk. There will be prizes for participants and a 50/50 draws. You don’t have to be a Y member to participate. Deadline to enter is Mar 24. All proceeds to the Strong Kids Campaign.

There’s another Young At Heart Games Night, every Wednesday at 7 til the end of May at the Dufferin Den in Sackville. If you are 50+ it’s a night of cards and board games. Admission is by donation, with proceeds for building maintenance.

The Canadian Cancer Society will be selling daffodils at Walmart and Sobeys this Thursday Friday and Saturday. They will also be for sale at grocery stores in Springhill, Oxford and Pugwash. Proceeds help people living with cancer and funds life-saving research, information and support services.

Annual SMILE walk run
The annual SMILE walk run will take place this Saturday, April 1 at 10:a.m. in Sackville at the Wallace McCain Student Centre. Registration begins at 9:00 a.m. There will be a 5K & 10K run and a 1K fun run for families. Registration is $10 with all proceeds supporting the Cumberland SMILE & SHINE Program

The Sackville Rotary are serving Breakfast Sat Apr 1 starting at 8 at the Tantramar Veterans Memorial Center. The cost is $4-$8, with proceeds to support Tantramar Regional High bursaries for graduating students.

The 8th Annual SMILE Walk/Run is Sat Apr 1. Registration is $10 and starts at 9 on the main floor of the Wallace McCain Student Center. The SMILE program is run by Mount Allison students, and the Cumberland SMILE & SHINE Program organization in Amherst. It pairs students from Mount Allison with children and youth in surrounding communities who have special needs. The Mount A Choral Society presents Music: Sacred and Profane, Sun Apr 2 at 3 at Trinity St Stephens United Church. The Choral Society will be joined by a chamber orchestra, the Mount A Brass Quintet and organist Jennifer del Motte. (The major work on the program will be Requiem Mass by Gabriel Faure.)
