There’s a Shrove Tuesday Pancake Supper ( with sausage and baked beans) Tue Feb 28 from 4-6 at the Holy Family Parish Hall. The cost is $7 for adults and $3 for those 12 and under. The event is sponsored by the Catholic Women’s League.

Volunteers in Sackville can help you with your income taxes, if you have low income and a simple tax situation. Bring all your tax slips and forms to the Sackville Legion. Drop off your information in the morning, and pick up your return in the afternoon, Thursdays in March, beginning March 2. For more information in Sackville call Dale at 536-0583. The Nature Conservancy of Canada, MP Bill Casey and MLA Terry Farrell will be announcing the conservation of valuable wildlife habitat on the Chignecto Isthmus, Thursday March 2 at 11 in the Seminar Room of the Four Fathers Memorial Library.

The World Day of Prayer in Amherst is Fri Mar 3 from 2-4 at the host church Holy Family Parish. The focus country is the Phillippines, and the theme is “Am I Being Fair to You." A time of fellowship and a light lunch will follow the service.

The Cumberland County 4-H Tour Roast Beef Supper is Sat Mar 4 at 4 and 6 at the Amherst Lions Center. The cost is $15, $10 for children under 10. There will be a silent auction and 50/50 at each sitting, with a live auction at the 6 o’clock sitting. Advance tickets only by calling Sharon Siddall at 902-546-2598 or from any 4-H member.

There’s a Benefit for Roberta McMaster, Sat Mar 4. Poker starts at 10 at the Dr. Carson and Marion Murray Community Center, with registration at 9:30. There will be a 50/50 all day and the canteen will be open. Then there’s a dance at the Legion from 9-1. Admission is a donation at the door. For more information call 902-397-1434.

They're holding a Rock n Roll Turkeyburger Sale at the Dr. Carson and Marion Murray Community Center, Saturday Mar 4 from 11-2. Turkeyburgers will be $3 or $3.50 with gravy. Proceeds to Rob Rushton Good 'n' Right's debut album, that will be recorded at the Groove Factory in Amherst.

The Cumberland Food Action Network is holding it's 4th  Seedy Saturday, March 4 from 1-3 at the Cumberland YMCA. There will be a seed swap and seeds for sale, demonstrations, kids activities and snacks. The event is free. For more information call 902-297-1687
