111 th Fireman’s Winter Carvnival

The 111 th Fireman’s Winter Carvnival is Sat Feb 8 from 6-9 at the Tantramar Veterans Memorial Civic Center. Grab your skates and your best costume and join the men and women of Sackville Fire and Rescue for a fun night with amazing prizes.  The theme this year is “Frozen in Time”.  Doors open at 6pm and it’s only 50 cents to participate.

Valentine Dance

The Amherst 50+ Club is holding a Valentines Dance, Saturday Feb 8 from 8-10:30 at their hall on Croft Street. Music will be by Jerry Metz and Lost Highway. There will be a 50/50 draw, with two winners and a Dinner for Two from Woo’s Kitchen as a door prize. There will be a light lunch following the dance.

Proceeds for important VON Community Support Programs, which help ensure our friends and neighbors in Cumberland County can live every day to the fullest.

Tidnish Bridge Fire Department Engine Fundraiser

The Tidnish Bridge Fire Department is in desperate need of 2 new engines for their rescue boat. Their current engines are over 20 years old and are no longer reliable in an emergency. For safety reasons they want to be ready for the upcoming beach season in May. Close to 8000 cottage goers, swimmers, boaters and tourists populate the area between Port Elgin and Pugwash every summer. And every year the Tidnish Bridge Fire Department answers four calls a summer.…

Tidnish Bridge Fire Department Fundraiser

The band Fusion will be playing a Dance at the Tidnish Community Center Saturday, 9-1. Tickets are $10. Call Ali at 902-694-0930. Afternoon of Music and Skits,

The Cumberland District Masonic Association and Laurie Lodge #70 in Springhill, is presenting an Afternoon of Music and Skits, Sunday 2-4:30 at the Springhill Legion. There will be draws all afternoon as well. Admission is $5, with tickets at the door, from your local Mason or by calling 902-297-9667. All the proceeds will be matched by the Masonic Foundation of Nova Scotia and are going to this year’s charity Cumberland Hospice.

Town vs Gown Charity Hockey Game

The Town vs Gown Charity Hockey Game is Sunday Feb 9 at the Tantramar Veterans Memorial Civic Center 4:30-6. Town staff, emergency personnel and business representatives will take on the best Mount Allison students and staff have to offer. There will be great prizes, a 50/50, kids activities, fan contests and more. Admission is a donation to the Sackville Food Bank.
