Autumn House Evening of Art
Autumn House Evening of Art 2020 is Saturday Jan 18, starting at 6:30 at Amherst Regional High. Support local artists and Autumn House. Tickets are $35 and include 2 drinks and tasty finger foods. Andrew Stiles is currently undergoing treatment for brain cancer. To alleviate some of the costs involved while being away from work, there’s a Benefit, Saturday, January 18th at the Sackville Legion. There will be music from Liz & Ben - Dynamic Duo. Donations will be accepted at the door. There will be a 50/50, and a small silent auction (cash, cheque, e-transfer only). Doors open at 7pm the dance beginning around 9pm.

Hike Nova Scotia and The Adventure Therapy Project are presenting a Guided Hike/Snowshoe on the Bunny Hill in Oxford, Sunday Jan 19 at 1. The Tidnish Bridge Fire Department is in desperate need of 2 new engines for their rescue boat. Their current engines are over 20 years old and are no longer reliable in an emergency. For safety reasons they want to be ready for the upcoming beach season in May. Close to 8000 cottage goers, swimmers, boaters and tourists populate the area between Port Elgin and Pugwash every summer. And every year the Tidnish Bridge Fire Department answers four calls a summer.…

The Babies Come First Prenatal Program begins tonight at 6-8 at Maggie’s Place. If you are expecting, pregnant moms and their partners or support people are invited to attend a 5 week program that will cover everything you need to know. The Great Canadian Snowman Challenge is back. Build a snowman for cancer. Take a picture of it and send it to Daren White. For a $10 donation, you are in the challenge. Voting for the best snowman is in April. The winner gets $100. All the proceeds to the Canadian Cancer Society’s Relay For Life. More details on Daren White’s facebook page.

The Cumberland County 4-H Tour Breakfast is Saturday 8-11 at the Amherst Lion’s Den. For $7, you get scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, hash browns and something to drink. Proceeds will go to Cumberland County 4-H Tours.

Maggie’s Place, CANU and Cumberland Libraries are hosting a Family Pajama Party, Saturday from 10-noon at the Knights of Columbus Hall on Robie Street.
