Snazzy Jazzy Christmas
There’s a Snazzy Jazzy Christmas, Saturday Dec 7 from 6-10 in the CIBC Room at the Dr Carson and Marion Murray Community Center. It will feature the music of Chris Brown Trio and Chelsea Atkinson and her band. There will be light refreshments. Proceeds support the Springhill Salvation Army Community Food Bank.

The Cumberland Singers presents The Sounds of Christmas, Saturday Dec 7 at 7:30 at the Wentworth Recreation Center. It’s an evening of traditional and contemporary Christmas music. Admission is $12 for adults and $6 for children 12 and under. Proceeds to area food banks in Oxford, Pugwash and Springhill.

The Amherst Fire Department Ladies Auxillary are holding a Toys and Things Bingo, Sunday Dec 8 at the Amherst Fire Hall. Doors open at 11:30, early birds at1 and regular games will start at 1:30. Prizes have been donated by local businesses, and the Amherst Fire Department Ladies Auxillary and it’s members. The super jackpot is a hoverboard and helmet donated by Tim Betts Trucking. Pizza will be sold by the slice. Proceeds to local charities.

The Amherst Wesleyan Church is holding a Coffee House Fundraiser, That’s A Wrap, Sunday Dec 8 6:30-8:30. It’s a night of coffee, sweets and music. All proceeds support the church’s Wrap Up for families in need and other gifts for the people of Amherst. Admission is a donation.

Live Bait Theatre is presenting Grandma’s Family Christmas, a hilarious musical Dinner Theatre, Wednesday thru Sunday at the Community Credit Union Business Innovation Center. The Amherst Curling Club’s Annual Fundraiser is on. You could win the first prize of $1500. 2nd is $1000, and $500 for 3rd. Tickets are $10 and available at the Amherst Curling Club and from members. Only 600 are being sold. The draw is Jan 27. Proceeds to support Lite Rocks Curling.

The 2nd Annual Children’s Christmas Shopping Party is going on this week at the Amherst Center. Friday and Saturday from 1-7 and Sunday 1-4. Children 2-6 can buy gifts for up to 6 family members for 50 cents each. Santa will be available for knee sitting, list checking and picture taking during the shopping party. Proceeds to the After the School Bell Food Program.
