The Cumberland and Area Train Club, is hosting a Train Show, Saturday Oct 26 from 10-4 at the Amherst First Baptist Church. There will be lots of exhibits. Cost is $2.50 per person.

The 5th Annual Amherst Zombie Walk, has a special twist this year. They are putting their Zombie Walk efforts to help the L.A. Animal Shelter. Saturday, the top floor of Dayles will be makeup workshop from 11-1. At 2,  Zombie’s will be walking to Town Hall for a picture, then back to Dayles.  Creepy Carnival will also be going on from 11-3, with games of skill, crafts, balloons, cotton candy, a photo booth, psychic readings and more. The Simons Family Haunted House and Trail is open this Saturday, at 1026 Valley Road. This year they have included a Zombie Field. The haunted house is open from 2-4 for children and 7-10 for adults. Admission is $5, with all money going to extra-curricular activities at Springhill schools.

The Amherst 50+ Club is holding a Dance, Saturday Oct 26 from 8-11. Music will be by Jerry Metz and Lost Highway. Admission is by donation.

If you are curious about curling, the Sackville Curling Club invites you to an Open House Sunday Oct 27 from 2:30-4:30 at 22 Landsdowne Street.  First year cost is $150. The Sackville Curling Club have a 6 week Learn to Curl Program that begins Nov 10. For details, go to sackvillecurlingclub.ca

There’s one more night for the Great Amherst Scarefest at the Amherst Center. It’s Wednesday from 6:30-9. The cost is $5. Save a dollar off your admission with a donation to the Food Bank.

To celebrate Halloween, the Four Fathers Memorial Library will be showing Ricky Horror Picture Show, Wednesday Oct 30 from 8-10. Go in costume, bring props and feel free to sing along. Warning the show is rated R. You have to 18 or older to attend.
