Maggie’s Place is holding a Homework Club every Wednesday from 2:40-3:30 starting Oct 2, at Spring Street Academy cafeteria. Work on homework, school projects, practice reading and writing, with support of peers and Homework Club facilitators.

The Southampton Fire Department will be holding an Open House Thursday Oct 10 at 6:30. Meet your local firefighters, and find out how to become a member. The department will have truck tours and demonstrations. There will be giveaways and light refreshments.

The last Music Night at the Tidnish Community Center is Thursday night at 7 and everyone is welcome.  

Christ Church Anglican is holding a Ham and Scalloped Potato Supper, Friday Oct 4. There will one sitting, for 80 people, 4:30-6:30. For tickets call 902-667-2415. Leave a message if necessary.

Friday Night Fun is back at the YMCA of Cumberland this Friday. It’s a fun night of activities, like crafts, games, swimming and the canteen. Ages 5-8 go between 6 and 8, ages 9-14 from 8-10. There’s a Teen Movie Night, Friday Oct 4 at the Springhill Library. They will be showing Five Feet Apart at 6. It’s for grades 7-12. Bring a snack and some friends.

There's a Bake and Craft Sale at the Amherst Salvation Army Saturday from 9-2.

The Holy Family Parish Fall Fair is Saturday Oct 5 from 9-1. They will have kids games, raffles, Shirley and Friends Boutique, a basket draw, a silent auction and an indoor yard sale. (Rent a table for $15 by calling 902-667-2523) Grab a muffin or cinnamon bun for breakfast and chilli and desserts for lunch.
