VON Fundraiser
VON Cumberland has a Fundraiser going on with lots to win. 1st prize, $300 of meat from Dickie’s Meat. 2nd prize. A $200 Superstore gift certificate. 3rd prize, a $100 Walmart gift card. Tickets are available at the office. Draw is Dec 18 at the VON office.

The Cumberland Y Service Club and the Amherst Y’s Mennettes have a Make a Difference Day coming up on Saturday Sept 28. With help from community volunteers they will be holding a Food Drive between 10 and noon. If you are not going to be home, leave your donations on your front step.

There’s Music at the Mall, Saturday at the Amherst Center. Drew Moore will be playing at the Market Café from 11-1. Then it’s the Doug Proctor Band from 1-3. And ask about the Collins Christmas Craft Village coming November 15. As always there will be a cash draw and door prizes. And there’s great food, with Caribbean, Korean and traditional cuisine in the Café.

Tantramar Heritage Trust’s annual "Taste of History" fundraising dinner, is Sunday Sept 29 at the Music Barn on Station Road in Sackville. This year will centre around the Saxby Gale, which took place October 4-5, 1869. There will be a dramatization of the events around the Gale, Al Smith's famous Trivia Competition, a Silent Auction, 50/50 draw, and more. On the menu, a hip of beef dinner.
