There’s a Blueberry Supper, Tuesday Sept 24 from 4-6 at the Collingwood Fire Hall. They will be serving ham and potato scallop, with blueberry pie or Blueberry cheesecake for dessert. The cost is $12 for adults, $6 for children 5-12 and free for pre-schoolers. The event is sponsors by the Collingwood District Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxillary.

Amherst Air Cadets are holding an Open House Wednesday from 7-8:30 at the Colonel James Layton Ralston Armouries. See what cadets are all about. Thursday is Science Day at the Springhill Library for grades P-6. Try some funky experiments between 3 and 4. Children under 9 must be accompanied by an adult.

VON Cumberland has a Fundraiser going on with lots to win. 1st prize, $300 of meat from Dickie’s Meat. 2nd prize. A $200 Superstore gift certificate. 3rd prize, a $100 Walmart gift card. Tickets are available at the office. Draw is Dec 18 at the VON office.

The Cumberland Y Service Club and the Amherst Y’s Mennettes have a Make a Difference Day coming up on Saturday Sept 28. With help from community volunteers they will be holding a Food Drive between 10 and noon. If you are not going to be home, leave your donations on your front step.
