Back to School Supplies are available for pick up this week at Maggie’s Place. Monday-Thursday 9-4 and Friday from 9-12. And in partnership with Cumberland Public Libraries, filled backpacks are available for pick-up at library branches throughout Cumberland County, except Amherst, during regular hours this week.

The Wild Blueberry harvest Festival is Aug 14-31 in Cumberland County. The Wild Blueberry Teddy Bear Picnic is Monday Aug 19,at 2 at the Little River Park on Lower Main Street in Oxford. Bring your favorite teddy bear and enjoy fun games and wild blueberry snacks.

It's Burgers to Beat MS Day, Thursday Aug 22 at A&W. Enjoy a Teen Burger, and $2 from each one sold Thursday, goes toward those living with MS in Canada. You can also donate on-line too. The After the School Bell Food Program and the Amherst Regional High Viking Pantry, are holding Food Drive Thursday through Saturday, Aug 22-24 from 10-3 at the Amherst Center next to Tim Hortons. There will also be a bake Sale Saturday from 11-1, with entertainment from Steve Ripley.

The Bridge Adult Service Center presents their 2019 Fashion Show, Thursday Aug 22 starting at 6:30 at the Bridge. Bridge clients will be modelling outfits from Bargains at the Bridge. Admission is $6 at the door.

The Sackville Street Chalk Art Festival is Friday thru Sunday August 23-25, on Bridge Street, in the heart of downtown Sackville. Eleven artists from across the Maritimes and Ontario will be creating a magnificent chalk art installation directly on Bridge Street.  And there’s live musical entertainment throughout the festival with Cool Water, headlining at 9:30 Friday night.
