Maggie’s Place – Heather Beach
Maggie’s Place is going to Heather Beach next Tuesday, and you and your family are welcome to join them. They will be building sandcastles, swimming, and paying games. There will be a picnic style snack. They plan to be at the beach from 10-12:30. Transportation is limited, so call 902-667-7250.

The Union of Safety and Justice Employees, the Cumberland District RCMP and the Municipality of Cumberland are hosting a Kids Bike Safety Rodeo, in the parking lot of the Dr Carson and Marion Murray Community Center Thursday from 1-3, rain or shine. The event is free and children must wear their helmets. There will be prizes too.

The Amherst Pickleball Group is celebrating National Pickleball Day, Saturday August 10, at the Church Street Tennis Court. They will be holding a tournament from 9-11. From 11-3 you can learn to play, equipment supplied, and there’s a free hotdog BBQ from 11-1.
Find out more »New R.B. Dickey Display – Cumberland County Museum
The Cumberland County Museum will be hosting the great-great grandchildren of Robert Barry Dickey, one of the Fathers of Confederation and the first owner of the home that is now the museum, Saturday August 10 from 2-4. The family of R.B. Dickey sent artifacts to the museum last year and will be bringing more with them. There will be a garden party in the front yard of the museum, and we are invited to see the new display.

There will be a Country Supper, Saturday Aug 10 at the Linden Community Hall, from 3:30-6. There will be hot and cold dishes, dessert and beverage for $12. The supper is $6 for those 11 and up and free for pre-schoolers.
