Music at the Mall
There’s Music at the Mall this Saturday, at the Amherst Center. Julia Lavers will be playing from 11-1 at the entrance to the Artisans Gallery (with a touch of Christmas in July) From 1-3 it’s Evange Landry and Neon Moon. There will be a cash draw, and door prizes and International Market Café cuisine with Donna Gogan, Charles Song, John Helm and Linda Burke.

The Cumberland County Museum presents, Enemy Aliens Exhibit , the Amherst Interment Camp 1914-1919. It is part of Enemy Aliens Interment in Canada 1914-1920 travelling exhibition from the Canadian War Museum. The exhibit runs until October 6, with the grand opening Saturday starting at 2. The museum grounds will be open and there will be a tea party as well. For more information call 902-667-0996.

The Minudie Heritage Association will be having a Pancake Breakfast fundraiser at the Minudie Hall on Saturday, from 9 am - 11 am. Cost is $7 a plate and everyone is welcome.

Fresh Paint is the art exhibit featuring the work of 7 artists who competed in a Live Graffiti Battle at the Town of Amherst, Summer Nights Market in June. The artists were given 2 hours to produce an original piece of art, based on the theme Diversity. The art is available for auction on the Town of Amherst facebook page until the end of August.

Cape Tormentine Beach Festival
The Cape Tormentine Beach Festival is on this weekend. Headlining the weekend’s entertainment are Dion Pride, son of singer Charley Pride, Nashville country music artist Phil Valdez and New Brunswick’s Brian Mallery, Shirley Albert, Kenny James, Cory Gallant, Claude and Reg Gallant and the Sackville based Slim Pickins. Flesh Impressions and Angelic Styles are presenting the 1st Annual Burn Camp Poker Run, Saturday Aug 3. All bikes are welcome. There’s a meet and greet from 9-11. You will leave from the Amherst Fire Station, and visit 4 other locations. The ride ends at 25 Newton Avenue. Poker hands are $10.
