Kidney Foundation Charity Golf Tournament
The Kidney Foundation of Canada Springhill/Oxford Area Chapter’s 1st Charity Golf Tournament, is Saturday June 15 at the Springhill Centennial Golf Club. The route will be The Big Block Walk: Leaving from Victoria Square, we will head up Church St, left onto Price Arthur St, left onto Havelock St, and filter into the parking lot on LaPlanche St, behind town hall. The All Saints Springhill Hospital Auxiliary member are selling tickets again this year on $100 worth of Seafood from Chase’s Lobster Pound in Port Howe. The auxiliary raises funds for much needed equipment for the Springhill hospital and also for scholarships for students entering the health care field at both NSCC & university. Tickets are $2 each or 3 for $5 and can be purchased at the gift shop or from any Auxiliary member. Draw date is June 19.

Wingkids is a professionally developed and unique program based on the modern martial art of Wing Fight. It provides instruction for children between 4 and 11, the fundamentals of self-defense, so they can act in responsive and appropriate ways in an emergency. The Town of Amherst is reaching out to artists for a Live Graffiti Battle at the Arts Party on Saturday June 20th. The finished pieces will be used help brighten up vacant spaces around town. The art will be on 4X4 wooden panels. Grafitti can range from simple written words to elaborate paintings. Register with the town for a cost of $25.00 and the prize money is winner take all.
