Music at the Mall

There’s Music at the Mall Saturday at the Amherst Center, but this weekend there’s more. The refreshed International Market and Café will be celebrating it’s official opening. You can sample, then try Jamaican, Caribbean, Korean and Canadian foods and baked products. There will be music from 10-3, featuring Michelle LeBlanc, Country Cookin, featuring R.A., Jack Hudson and Larry Lemieux and Doug Proctor and New Vintage. And the Amherst Artisans Gallery is celebrating it’s 6th birthday

11th Annual Pit Pond Fishing Derby

The 11th Annual Pit Pond Fishing Derby is Saturday June 8, 11-2 in Springhill. It’s for youth 15 and under, with awards for longest fish in 3 different age categories. As part of the derby there will be a Communities in Bloom BBQ. The event is rain or shine  at the Pit Pond at the bottom of Main St in Springhill.

Afternoon of Music honoring Wilson Moore

June 9, 2019 @ 1:30 pm

Wilson Moore has been promoting bluegrass and old time music for more than 40 years. There will be an Afternoon of Music honoring Wilson Sunday June 9 starting at 1:30 at the Music barn in Sackville. Musical quests will include Ivan and Vivian Hicks, Eddie Poirier, Grassline, Bluegrass Diamonds and more. Admission is $15 at the door.

ARHS MUSE Awards

June 11, 2019 @ 6:00 pm

Amherst Regional High is going to celebrate the arts at their first MUSE awards, Monday June 10. The event starts at 6, with soloists and duets in the school’s atrium. (outside if the weather cooperates) The school’s Art Gallery will be open and there will be visual displays is the atrium as well. The awards will be handed out in the Susan Taylor Theatre.  The MUSE awards are open to everyone.

Early Screening Program

Princess Tea

The Springhill Princess Tea is Thursday June 13 from 5:30-7:30, at the Dr. Carson and Marion Murray Community Center. They will have face painting, hair and nail station with a cupcake and drink. Entry fee is $5 per princess. Proceeds to the Springhill Elementary Schools Home and School Committee.

Annual Spring into Summer Concert

The Annual Spring into Summer Concert is Thursday June 13 at 7 at St. Andrew’s Wesley United Church in Springhill. Featured performers will include the Fellas, Citizen’s Choir from Parrsboro, the choirs of First Baptist and St. Andrews Wesley United, Clare Canning, Andrew and Marg Lloyd, Leah Killen and Rev. Dan Green.  Admission is a freewill offering.
