Amherst 50+ Club – Live Auction and Bake Sale

The Amherst 50+ Club will be holding a Live Auction and Bake Sale, Saturday May 11 at their hall on Croft Street. Viewing starts at 9, with the auction at 9:30. If you get hungry, the kitchen will be open with hamburgers, hotdogs and more.

Music at the Mall

There’s Music at the Mall Saturday, at the Amherst Center. Join R.A. and Drew Moore at the entrance to the Artisans Gallery from 11-1. The Christopher Brown Trio will be playing at the Market Café from 1-3. And remember you can always get a great breakfast at the Market Café.

Kidney Foundation Rock-a-Thon

The Springhill/Oxford Chapter of the Kidney Foundation is holding a Rock-a-Thon Saturday May 11 from 2-4 at the Senior Citizens Recreation Center on McDougal Street in Springhill. The 25th Annual Bacon Elliot Scholarship Dinner is Saturday at the Knights of Columbus Hall from 5-9, with take-outs available. A Lobster/ Steak Dinner for $35,00. They are holding a Musical Evening at the Sunrise Renwick United Church in Amherst Head, Saturday May 11 at 7. It will feature Neon Moon (Ruth Shearer and Friends). They also serve at light lunch. Admission is a donation, with the proceeds to the UCW.

Mother’s Day Turkey Dinner

There’s a Mother’s day Turkey Dinner at Christ Church Parish Hall Sunday May 12 from 4-6. Use the back entrance off Laplanche Street. Tickets are $15 for adults, $7 for 12 and under, and free for preschoolers. Tickets are available in advance at the church office, or call 902-667-2415. Takeouts will be available from 4-5.
