The 37th Annual Highland Fling Family Fun Fair is Saturday May 11 9-1 at the Amherst Curling Club. This year’s goal is to raise $35,000 to buy a mannequin simulator, to support nursing and other medical professionals in developing and maintaining skills. Our Pack Animal Rescue will be hosting a Doggy Spa Day at Pet Valu in Amherst at this Saturday, from noon to 4. Minimum donation of $20 will get your pet washed, dryed and nails trimed. You'll be leaving with a happy tail and helping to support local animal rescues.

The Cumberland Singers are holding a Talent Contest –The Cumberland Voice. If you like to sing, you could win the $300 first prize, or the $200 second prize or the $100 third prize. Auditions are Saturday May 4 at 8. The semi-finals May 11th and the finals May 25, at the Wentworth Recreation Center. The L.A. Animal Shelter will be holding their Spring Tea, Sunday May 5, with two sittings, 11:30 and 1:30, at the Community Credit Union Business Innovation Center. There will be lunch, live entertainment and a silent auction.
