Animal Shelter Spring Tea

The L.A. Animal Shelter will be holding their Spring Tea, Sunday May 5, with two sittings, 11:30 and 1:30, at the Community Credit Union Business Innovation Center. There will be lunch, live entertainment and a silent auction. The cost is $15, Tickets are available at Buds to Blossoms, the Copper Tree Boutique and the Shell on South Albion Street, or call 902-667-7383.

CWL Merchandise Bingo,

There’s a CWL Merchandise Bingo, Sunday at the Catholic Church Hall on Chapel Street in Springhill. Doors open at 5, with bingo at 7. There will be regular games, jackpot and specials. All books are $5. The canteen will be open too with fresh turkey burgers

A Mental Health Awareness Walk, Let’s Walk About It is Wednesday May 8, starting at 11:30 from the YMCA of Cumberland parking lot. It’s a 2 km walk for fun. After the walk there is a lunch. Fling – Singing for the Fling

The 37th Annual Highland Fling Family Fun Fair is Saturday May 11 9-1 at the Amherst Curling Club. This year’s goal is to raise $35,000 to buy a mannequin simulator, to support nursing and other medical professionals in developing and maintaining skills.
