Classic Movie Night – Bullitt
It’s Classic Movie Night at the Springhill Library Wed April 10. They will be showing the 1968 action film Bullitt, with Steve McQueen and Jacqueline Bissett. Show time at 7.

The Amherst Zonta Club is accepting applications for the Kim Wry Memorial Bursary. It’s $1000 and intended for a woman who qualifies as a mature student and is enrolled in a post-secondary program. Application forms are available at the Amherst Post Office or at NSCC Amherst or Springhill. Proof of registration with a recognized institution must be included with your application. Last date to apply is May 31st.

The Canadian Cancer Society Daffodil Campaign is April 11-13. Live daffodils will be sold at Sobeys and Superstore in Amherst and Scott’s Your Independent Grocer in Oxford. Volunteers are needed to help sell them. If you have a few hours to spare, contact Julia Corbett at julia.corbett@ns.cancer.ca or go to cancer.ca/daffodil to volunteer.

Readers Theatre by Christ Church Celebration Troupe presents the play Easter, directed by Dale Fawthrop, Friday and Saturday at 7 in Christ Church Sanctuary. There’s Music at the Mall at the Amherst Center this Saturday. Jerry Metz, Brain Davis and Jim Steele will be performing at the Amherst Artisans market from 11-1. At the Market Café Ray Legere and Frank Doody will be playing from 1-3. You can always get a great breakfast at the Amherst Market Café. The Grand Opening of the refreshed café with a strong international menu is coming in the near future.

There’s a Fundraiser for the Veno/Rogers family Saturday 8-2 at Teasers. The entertainment will include The Alias Band, C4, Ron Downey and Friends, Jan & Mike, Michelle Leblanc and Drew Polegato. There will be mystery draws throughout the evening. Admission is a donation at the door.
