Outdoor Pursuits – Outdoor Activity Group
Outdoor Pursuits is an outdoor activity group, for adults who enjoy nature, people and activities. Walking, hiking, biking, snow shoeing, cross country skiing and more are some of their pursuits. There’s Music at the Mall at the Amherst Center this Saturday. Julie Lavers will be performing at the Amherst Artisans market from 11-1. You can always get a great breakfast at the Amherst Market Café. The Grand Opening of the refreshed café with a strong international menu is coming in the near future, as development challenges are resolved.

The I.O.D.E. Cobequid Chapter will be holding a Ladies Night Out Thursday at 7 at the Dr. Carson and Marion Murray Community Center. There will be a fashion show by Jay Set, special vendors, a silent auction, 50/50 draw, tickets on a spa basket, door prizes and a light lunch. Tickets are $10 and available from any IODE member or call 902-597-2317.

The 2nd Annual Relay for Life Basketball Tournament is June 1st and 2nd at ARHS, All the profits and proceeds that are made between canteen and silent auction and at-the-door donations are donated to the relay for life and Canadian cancer society. The students of E.B. Chandler and the band Second Toe are presenting an Evening of Music, Friday night from 7-10, in the school cafeteria. Second Toe will be on hand to assist students with their music and may even play a tune or two. It’s a casual night with snacks, tea and coffee and punch as the music students raise awareness for the arts and to raise money fro music programs at E.B. and Amherst Regional High.

The Amherst Masons are serving breakfast Saturday morning from 7:30-10:30 at their temple on Lawrence Street. They will have eggs, bacon or sausage, hash browns and more. $7 for adults, $4 for children under 12.
