There’s a Roast Beef Dinner Sunday starting at 4 at the Air Force Association on Havelock Street. The cost is $13 and take-outs will be available. Call 902-667-9262 for more information.

The Town vs Gown Charity Hockey Game is Sunday Feb 24, starting at 4:30, at the Tantramar Veterans Memorial Civic Center. The game pits Town representatives against Mount Allison faculty, staff and students. Admission is a non-perishable food item for the Sackville Food Bank. And Sackville Minor Hockey will be selling 50/50 tickets.

The next International Cooking Class will feature a Taste of Western Canadian Food with Jim Kurchak. Monday from 6-8 at Maggie’s Place. If you are going let them know by calling 902-397-1787. Admission is a donation for the food bank.

The Pugwash Open Hamper Food Bank is holding their annual fundraiser at the Pugwash Co-op, Tuesday Feb 26 from 11-2. Feb 26 is Johnny Cash’s birthday, The Co-op is encouraging their customers to donate a non-perishable food item for the food bank. All shoppers will be offered fried or plain bologna sandwiches (Johnny’s favorite) and a slice of birthday cake, with black frosting.

There’s an After School Movie  at the Springhill Library Thursday. They will be showing Small Foot. The show starts at 3 and it’s for grades primary to 6. Children under 9 must be accompanied by an adult.  

March, is Kidney Health Month in Canada. Kidney Foundation volunteers will be going door-to-door to raise money for research, programs, and services that improve the health and quality of life of people living with kidney disease and those at risk. Please give generously when a Kidney Foundation volunteer knocks on your door.

The World Day of Prayer Service for Amherst will be held at the First Baptist Church on Victoria Street on Friday March 1st, at 2. The focus country will be Slovenia and everyone is welcome to attend. Following the service there will be light refreshments and fellowship.

Christ Church Anglican will be holding a Pancake Supper, Friday March 1 from 4:30-6:30. Tickets are $10 for adults, $5 for children under 12, and $25 for a family. Tickets will be available at the door or at the Church office, 902-667-2415.
